The MDT Sporting Goods Inc Clp-x is a lubricant.
Lubricant reduces wear where parts slide against each other and leaves a film that slows corrosion. A CLP does cleaning, lubrication and protection in one product, which is convenient and less thorough than doing each separately.
Clean from the chamber toward the muzzle where the design allows it. Dragging a rod back and forth across the crown – the last fraction of an inch of rifling at the muzzle – is one of the few ways cleaning can measurably harm a barrel.
