Because we sell regulated products, our return terms are specific — please read them before you order. Firearms, ammunition, and optics are treated differently from ordinary retail goods, and several categories cannot be returned at all.
Return authorization is required
Do not ship anything back to us before you have been issued a return authorization. Merchandise sent without prior authorization may be refused or returned at your expense.
To request one, email chris@kazuarms.com with your order number and the reason for the return. Requests must be made within 30 days of delivery.
Restocking fee
All authorized returns are subject to a 25% restocking fee, calculated on the purchase price of the returned item and deducted from your refund. Return shipping is the buyer’s responsibility.
The fee does not apply if the item arrived damaged, defective, or was not the item you ordered. In those cases we cover return shipping and make you whole.
Items that cannot be returned
Sales are final on the following, regardless of condition:
- Special orders
- Products sold “as is” or “used,” and any product that has been installed or used after you received it
- NFA items
- Illumination devices, electronic sights, and optics
- Ammunition — final and non-returnable for safety and legal reasons
If something on this list arrives defective or damaged, it is handled as a warranty or freight claim rather than a return — see below. Nothing here limits your rights under the manufacturer’s warranty.
Firearms
Once a firearm has been transferred to you, the sale is final. Inspect it at the dealer’s counter before you complete the transfer — that is the point at which problems are easiest to resolve.
If a firearm arrives new with a manufacturer defect, contact us within 3 business days of pickup and we will help coordinate warranty service with the manufacturer.
If your transfer cannot be completed
This covers a denied background check, a receiving dealer who declines the transfer, or a firearm that turns out not to be legal to transfer where you live. In each case the firearm is returned to us and you have two options:
- Refund to your original payment method, less the 25% restocking fee and return shipping.
- Store credit for the full purchase price, with no restocking fee.
Transfer fees, background check fees, and any other charges paid directly to your receiving dealer are set by that dealer and are not refundable by us.
Confirming two things with your dealer before you order prevents nearly all of this: that they will accept the transfer, and that the specific firearm is legal in your state. See how an FFL transfer works.
Defective merchandise and warranties
Defective merchandise is handled under the manufacturer’s warranty and, in most cases, is sent directly to the manufacturer under their warranty and return procedures. We will help you open the claim and tell you where to send it.
The only warranties on the products we sell are the express warranties provided by their manufacturers. We make no additional warranty of any kind.
Shipping damage or missing items
Inspect your order as soon as it arrives. Report visible freight damage, shortages, or a missing item within 48 hours of delivery so we can file a carrier claim — after that window carriers routinely deny claims and we may not be able to replace the item at no cost.
Keep the original packaging until the claim is resolved. Carriers frequently require it as evidence.
Accessories and non-serialized items
Items not listed as final sale may be returned within 30 days of delivery if they are unused and in original, undamaged packaging with all included materials. The 25% restocking fee applies and return shipping is the buyer’s responsibility.
Order cancellations
Orders can be cancelled at no charge any time before they ship. Once an order has shipped — to your address or to your receiving dealer — the terms above apply.
Backordered items follow the same rule, with more detail on lead times, delay notices and how cancellation works while you wait — see our Backorder Policy.
Refunds and timing
Refunds are issued once the returned item has been received and inspected.
- Card and ACH: 3–5 business days after your return is approved. Depending on your bank, it can take an additional statement cycle to appear.
- Cryptocurrency: crypto payments are converted to US dollars at the time of purchase, so refunds are calculated and issued in US dollars — in the amount we received on your original purchase date, not in cryptocurrency, and not adjusted for exchange-rate movement in either direction. Take it as store credit immediately, or by ACH to a US bank account within 3–5 business days.
- Store credit: issued immediately on approval and does not expire.
How to start a return
Email chris@kazuarms.com with your order number and the reason for the return, and we will tell you whether the item is returnable and how to send it back. Please wait for authorization before shipping anything.
