PROOF RESEARCH PREFIT BARREL Q FIX 6CR 22″

Description

This is a PROOF Research prefit barrel for the Q Fix, in 6mm Creedmoor with a 22" length. PROOF's barrels are carbon fiber wrapped over a match-grade steel core: the carbon carries stiffness at a fraction of the weight of steel of the same profile, and it sheds heat differently from a bare steel barrel of equal contour.

Prefit means the chamber and the shoulder are already cut to the action's spec, so it threads on and headspaces without a gunsmith reaming the chamber to your particular receiver. Barrel changes are part of how the Fix is meant to be used – Q built the rifle around swapping barrels to change caliber – so this is the intended path to another chambering rather than a modification of one.

Fitment is the thing to check before ordering. A prefit is cut for one action, and this one is cut for the Q Fix; it will not thread onto a different maker's action. If you are unsure what you have, ask us first.
