Description

The Daniel Defense M4 is a replacement barrel, 12.5" long.

The rifling twist is 1:7 – one full turn of the bullet in 7 inches of barrel. Twist decides which bullet weights a barrel can stabilise: a faster twist (a smaller number) handles longer, heavier bullets. It is cut into the barrel and cannot be changed.

The barrel is where the chamber and the bore are, so it sets the chambering and, on a threaded barrel, what can be fitted at the muzzle.

Barrels are model-specific. A drop-in barrel is cut to fit a particular slide or receiver without fitting work; a match barrel is usually cut tighter and expected to be fitted by a gunsmith. Which one this is matters before you order.

A threaded barrel is what a suppressor or a muzzle device mounts to. Thread pitch has to match the device – 1/2×28 and 5/8×24 are the common ones and they are not interchangeable. Some states restrict threaded barrels; check yours.
