Description
The Savage Axis is a bolt action rifle in .350 Legend with an 18″ barrel and 4-round capacity plus one chambered.
This barrel length is the usual compromise: enough to develop most of the cartridge’s velocity while still being manageable to carry all day, and short enough that a suppressor on the end does not make it unwieldy. It ships without iron sights, so plan on an optic and a way to mount it: a red dot or holographic sits on a rail, a scope needs rings and a base, and a rifle with neither needs a mount first.
The .350 Legend is commonly chosen for deer hunting in straight-wall cartridge states. These exist to satisfy regulations that prohibit bottleneck rifle cartridges for deer.
