Description
The Proof Research Elevation MTR is a bolt action rifle in .338 ARC with a 16.5" barrel and a 1:8 twist.
This is a left-hand action: the bolt handle and ejection port are on the left side, laid out for a left-handed shooter. At this length it is easier to work in thick cover or from a blind, trading some velocity for the handling. That is faster than the usual twist for this cartridge, which suits the heavier, longer bullets distance shooters tend to favor.
The .338 ARC is commonly chosen for extreme long-range shooting. Heavy and hard-recoiling, chosen when reach outweighs comfort.
