Description
The Savage Arms 93 Bolt Bk/tact is a bolt-action rifle in .17 HMR with a 22" barrel.
This is a conventional rimfire barrel length. Rimfire powder is fully burnt well before the muzzle, so extra length adds sight radius and weight rather than velocity.
The .17 HMR is commonly chosen for small game and varmints at extended range. It carries a rimfire out to roughly 200 yards with a very flat trajectory, though the light bullet is easily pushed by wind.
