SAVAGE AXIS 2 XP 30-06 20″ – THREADED W/3-9X40 BLACK/GREEN

Description

The Savage Axis 2 is a bolt action rifle in .30-06 Springfield with a 20" barrel, a 1:10 twist and 4-round capacity.

This barrel length is the usual compromise: enough to develop most of the cartridge's velocity while still being manageable to carry all day, and short enough that a suppressor on the end does not make it unwieldy. That is the standard twist for this cartridge, and it stabilizes the bullet weights most factory ammunition is loaded with.

The .30-06 Springfield is commonly chosen for a broad range of game from deer to elk. Over a century old and still one of the most flexible hunting cartridges made.
