The Bergara B14 is a bolt action in .17 HM2 with an 18" barrel, a 1:16 twist and 10-round capacity plus one chambered.
This barrel length is a common compromise: enough to develop most of the cartridge's velocity while staying manageable to carry. That is slower than the usual twist for this cartridge, so it favors lighter bullets; very heavy projectiles may not stabilize. It ships without iron sights, so budget for an optic, rings and a base if you do not already have them.
Bolt actions are commonly chosen for hunting and target shooting, where the simpler mechanism and rigid lockup are valued.
