Description
The Bergara BMR is a bolt action in .17 HMR with a 20" barrel, a 1:16 twist and 10-round capacity.
This is a conventional rimfire barrel length. Rimfire powder is fully burnt well before the muzzle, so extra length adds sight radius and weight rather than velocity. That is slower than the usual twist for this cartridge, so it favors lighter bullets; very heavy projectiles may not stabilize. It ships without iron sights, so budget for an optic, rings and a base if you do not already have them.
The .17 HMR is commonly chosen for small game and varmints at extended range. It shoots much flatter than .22 LR at the cost of ammunition price.
This is a serialized firearm. It ships to a licensed dealer near you rather than to your door, and you complete the transfer there with a Form 4473 and a background check. State and local rules govern what can be shipped where, so check yours before ordering – and if you are unsure, ask us first.
