The Connecticut Valley Arms / CVA Cascade XT is a bolt action in .450 Bushmaster with a 22" barrel, a 1:24 twist and 3-round capacity.

This barrel length is a common compromise: enough to develop most of the cartridge's velocity while staying manageable to carry. Twist rate determines which bullet weights stabilize: a faster twist favors heavier, longer projectiles. It ships without iron sights, so budget for an optic, rings and a base if you do not already have them.

The .450 Bushmaster is commonly chosen for deer hunting in straight-wall cartridge states. These exist to satisfy regulations that prohibit bottleneck rifle cartridges for deer.
