The Connecticut Valley Arms / CVA Cascade SB is a bolt-action rifle in 450 Bushmaster with an 18" barrel.
This barrel length is a common compromise: enough to develop most of the cartridge's velocity while staying manageable to carry.
The 450 Bushmaster is commonly chosen for deer hunting in straight-wall cartridge states. These exist to satisfy regulations that prohibit bottleneck rifle cartridges for deer.
