The Winchester Repeating Arms Xpr Extreme is a bolt action in .223 REM/5.56 NATO with a 26" barrel, a 1:9.5 twist and 5-round capacity plus one chambered.
A long barrel gives the cartridge room to build velocity, at the cost of handling in tight spaces and some added weight. That is slower than the usual twist for this cartridge, so it favors lighter bullets; very heavy projectiles may not stabilize.
The .223 REM is commonly chosen for varmints, predators and target work. Cheap, widely available and light on recoil, which makes it an easy cartridge to shoot well.
