The Surefire XR2 is a 800-lumen weapon light.
This sits in the sweet spot for defensive use: enough output to dominate a room or a yard, without the wash-back that very high output causes in tight spaces. Lumens describe total output rather than reach; a light with fewer lumens but tighter focus can throw further.
It is rechargeable, which lowers running costs but means it needs charging on a schedule rather than being left in a drawer. Confirm it fits your rail and that you can reach the switch with your normal firing grip before committing to it – a light you cannot activate under stress is worse than no light. Lights ship directly to you with no FFL transfer.
This pistol-mounted light from Surefire features the lightweight and rugged design that Surefire is known for. This light outputs 600 Lumens and can attach to most universal and Picatinny rails. Powering the light is SureFire's rechargeable battery system, which allows the user to charge almost anywhere with the included Micro USB charging cradle. Or keep a spare battery with you to always have the illumination you need. In addition to the 600 Lumen LED light, there is a green laser for quick target acquisition in all lighting conditions.
