The Kershaw Launch 1 folder features a 3.40" CPM 154 stainless blade, drop point, plain edge, aluminum handle, black finish.
Stainless scales are durable and easy to clean, though heavier than polymer.
A blade in this range handles heavier everyday tasks and light outdoor work while still carrying comfortably clipped in a pocket.
Carry laws are set locally as well as by state, and a 3.4" blade is legal to carry in many places and not in others – check your state and city rules before you carry it. Knives ship directly to you with no FFL transfer and no background check, unlike a firearm.
The Launch 1 CPM 154 powdered metallurgy blade steel has more uniform distribution of carbides, so it takes and holds an excellent edge. It also provides good corrosion resistance, wear resistance and toughness. To lighten the Launch 1's weight, the handles are durable anodized aluminum and are contoured to fit snugly in the hand. It opens with a push button, which is recessed so that it is level with the flat of the handle. This is a safety feature and makes it harder for the knives to accidentally deploy. The Launch 1's pocket clip is left/right reversible. For left-handed use, use your index finger instead of your thumb to press the blade-release/lock button. Made in the USA.
