Description
The Kershaw Interstellar folding knife features a 2.70" 8Cr13MoV stainless blade.
The blade is 8Cr13MoV SS, a budget-friendly Chinese stainless that sharpens easily and resists rust well, though it needs touching up more often than premium steels.
Around three inches is the everyday carry sweet spot – long enough for boxes, cord, food prep and general utility, short enough to disappear in a pocket.
Carry laws are set locally as well as by state, and a 2.7" blade is legal to carry in many places and not in others – check your state and city rules before you carry it. Knives ship directly to you with no FFL transfer and no background check, unlike a firearm. Keep the blade dry and the pivot clean, and touch the edge up on a strop or fine stone before it gets properly dull – it is far less work than bringing back a blunt edge.
Where we're going, we don't need flippers. Even better, the Interstellar's blade slides out-the-front with a manual button mechanism. The sliding button lock is safe, reliable, and easy to use. It's a full-size knife, too, complete with a four-finger grip for work tasks. Use the partially serrated, tanto blade for cutting rope or piercing cuts. Unique handle texturing gives a futuristic look to the appropriately named Interstellar. It even features a practical bottle opener integrated into the backspacer. Though it uses a single-position pocket clip, the near-symmetrical design is easy to handle for left-handed users, too. Discover out-of-this-world performance from the Interstellar.
