The Mossberg Patriot is a bolt action in 7 mm Remington Magnum with a 24" barrel, a 1:9.5 twist and 3-round capacity plus one chambered.

A long barrel gives the cartridge room to build velocity, at the cost of handling in tight spaces and some added weight. That is the standard twist for this cartridge, and it stabilizes the bullet weights most factory ammunition is loaded with.

Bolt actions are commonly chosen for hunting and target shooting, where the simpler mechanism and rigid lockup are valued.

Clear, tough and bright, the hard anodized single-piece aircraft-grade aluminum tube is nitrogen purged and o-ring sealed for waterproof/fogproof performance. The Dead-Hold BDC Reticles customized hashmark design helps eliminate guesswork on holdover and windage corrections. Good at varying ranges where estimating holdover is a concern.
