Description
The Eotech Vudu is a 1-6x riflescope on a 30mm tube. The reticle is in the first focal plane.
A range starting at 1x can be shot with both eyes open at close range, like a red dot, and zoomed to 6x when a target needs identifying or reaching. That versatility is why this class is common on general-purpose rifles.
First focal plane: the reticle grows and shrinks with the magnification, so its subtensions – the hash marks used to hold for wind and drop – measure the same at every power. The trade is a reticle that can look fine at low power and coarse at high.
A 30mm tube generally allows more internal elevation adjustment than a 1 inch tube, which matters when dialling for distance. Rings or a mount must be 30mm – ring diameter is not adjustable and a different size will not clamp.
Eye relief is listed at 3.20" – the distance the eye sits behind the ocular to see the full picture, which is what has to be respected when positioning the scope in the rings.
Reticle: Illuminated BDC MOA 5.56mm.
