Description
The Eotech Vudu is a 4-12x riflescope with a 36mm objective. The reticle is in the first focal plane.
A top end in this range is enough to place a shot at distance while the bottom end stays usable up close. It is the common compromise for a rifle expected to do more than one job.
First focal plane: the reticle grows and shrinks with the magnification, so its subtensions – the hash marks used to hold for wind and drop – measure the same at every power. The trade is a reticle that can look fine at low power and coarse at high.
The 36mm objective sets how much light the scope can gather and how tall the rings need to be to clear the bell.
Eye relief is listed at 3.10'' – the distance the eye sits behind the ocular to see the full picture, which is what has to be respected when positioning the scope in the rings.
