The Dan Wesson Bruin is a semi-auto in 10mm with a 6" barrel and 8-round capacity.
A carbine-length barrel keeps the pistol maneuverable, trading some velocity for handling. It comes with night sights. The slide is cut for a red dot, so an optic mounts without machining. The optic and, on most models, a mounting plate are bought separately, and the plate has to match the footprint your optic uses.
The 10mm is commonly chosen for hunting, the outdoors and range use. The most powerful common semi-auto handgun cartridge, which is why it is carried in bear country.
