Description
The Cold Steel Roach Belly fixed features a 4.5" 4116 stainless blade, serrated edge, stainless handle, black finish.
A serrated edge bites into rope, webbing and fibrous material far better than a plain edge, and stays aggressive long after a plain edge has dulled. Stainless scales are durable and easy to clean, though heavier than polymer.
A fixed blade of this size suits hunting, camp and outdoor work where strength matters more than pocketability – there is no pivot to fail and it cleans easily.
Carry laws are set locally as well as by state, and a 4.5" blade is legal to carry in many places and not in others – check your state and city rules before you carry it. Knives ship directly to you with no FFL transfer and no background check, unlike a firearm.
Cold Steel's interpretation of this knife is a nod to the Black Powder Community, which has continued to appreciate the Roach Belly's economy, versatility and effectiveness. Their version retains the profile of the original but incorporates the latest in modern materials for its construction. The hollow ground blade is made of 4116 stainless, expertly heat treated to Rc 56-57 and given a fine sharp edge that's easy to maintain. Instead of the traditional wood handle, this one is constructed of tough polypropylene, so it's impervious to the elements and won't swell, shrink, rot or crack the way wood does.
