The Cold Steel Kyoto Ii features a 3.38" 8Cr13MoV stainless blade, tanto, plain edge, black finish.
The blade is 8Cr13MoV SS, a budget-friendly Chinese stainless that sharpens easily and resists rust well, though it needs touching up more often than premium steels. Stainless scales are durable and easy to clean, though heavier than polymer.
A fixed blade of this size suits hunting, camp and outdoor work where strength matters more than pocketability – there is no pivot to fail and it cleans easily.
Carry laws are set locally as well as by state, and a 3.38" blade is legal to carry in many places and not in others – check your state and city rules before you carry it. Knives ship directly to you with no FFL transfer and no background check, unlike a firearm. Keep the blade dry and the pivot clean, and touch the edge up on a strop or fine stone before it gets properly dull – it is far less work than bringing back a blunt edge.
