Description
The Spyderco Para 3 Lightweight features a 2.92" CTS BD1 stainless blade, clip point, plain edge, FRN handle, black finish.
The blade is CTS BD1 SS, a fine-grained American stainless that sharpens quickly and takes a keen edge. FRN keeps the weight and the price down while staying tough and textured in hand.
Around three inches is the everyday carry sweet spot – long enough for boxes, cord, food prep and general utility, short enough to disappear in a pocket.
Carry laws are set locally as well as by state, and a 2.92" blade is legal to carry in many places and not in others – check your state and city rules before you carry it. Knives ship directly to you with no FFL transfer and no background check, unlike a firearm. Keep the blade dry and the pivot clean, and touch the edge up on a strop or fine stone before it gets properly dull – it is far less work than bringing back a blunt edge.
Spyderco's Para 3 folding knife incorporates injection-molded fiberglass-reinforced-nylon (FRN) scales and a streamlined version of Spyderco's patented Compression Lock mechanism to create the Para 3 Lightweight. Almost 30 percent lighter than its G-10-handled counterparts, the Para 3 Lightweight boasts linerless, open-backed construction and Spyderco's high-traction Bi-Directional Texture pattern for a secure grip. A stainless steel lock bar inset into the handles interior forms the foundation of its sturdy lock mechanism, while keeping the overall weight to an absolute minimum. The knifes full-flat-ground blade is crafted from CTS BD1N, a nitrogen-enriched high-carbon chromium steel that offers a superior balance of hardness, edge retention and corrosion resistance.
