The Carlsons Choke Tubes Snap Cap .22 Rimfire is a set of snap caps.
Snap caps are inert dummy rounds. They contain no powder and no primer – the primer position is a cushion – so they cannot fire.
They are used to cushion the firing pin during dry fire on actions that should not be dry fired empty, to practise loading, clearing and malfunction drills with something that will not go off, and to check that a rifle feeds from the magazine.
They are sized to a specific cartridge or gauge so they feed like the real thing. Keep them stored away from live ammunition.
