The SOG Seal Xr features a 3.9" S35VN stainless blade.
The blade is S35VN SS, a refined powder steel that keeps the edge retention of S30V while being meaningfully easier to sharpen.
A blade in this range handles heavier everyday tasks and light outdoor work while still carrying comfortably clipped in a pocket.
Carry laws are set locally as well as by state, and a 3.9" blade is legal to carry in many places and not in others – check your state and city rules before you carry it. Knives ship directly to you with no FFL transfer and no background check, unlike a firearm. Keep the blade dry and the pivot clean, and touch the edge up on a strop or fine stone before it gets properly dull – it is far less work than bringing back a blunt edge.
