Description
The Weatherby Vanguard Sporter – is a bolt action in .22-250 Remington with a 24" barrel, a 1:14 twist and 5-round capacity plus one chambered.
A long barrel gives the cartridge room to build velocity, at the cost of handling in tight spaces and some added weight. That is slower than the usual twist for this cartridge, so it favors lighter bullets; very heavy projectiles may not stabilize. It ships without iron sights, so budget for an optic, rings and a base if you do not already have them.
The .22-250 Remington is commonly chosen for varmints and predators at long range. High velocity and a flat trajectory, at the cost of barrel life.
