The Weatherby 307 Alpine St is a bolt action in .300 Weatherby Magnum with a 24" barrel, a 1:10 twist and 3-round capacity plus one chambered.
A long barrel gives the cartridge room to build velocity, at the cost of handling in tight spaces and some added weight. Twist rate determines which bullet weights stabilize: a faster twist favors heavier, longer projectiles.
