Description

The Safariland SL 6385 Als For is a duty holster, right-hand, in Kydex.

A duty holster is worn openly on a belt or thigh rig and uses active retention – a lock the wearer must release deliberately – so the pistol stays put through movement and cannot easily be taken from the wearer.

Kydex is a moulded thermoplastic. It holds its shape, so the mouth of the holster stays open for one-handed reholstering, and it retains the pistol by friction against that fixed shape.

This is the right-hand version. Handedness is not adjustable – a holster moulded for one side cannot be worn on the other, so check which you are ordering.

It uses active retention: a lock or strap that has to be released deliberately before the pistol will come out. That is slower than friction alone and is the point – it resists the pistol being taken or shaken loose.
