Description
The Honey Badger is Q's flagship platform, originally built for a top-tier military program to replace the MP5-SD and designed from the start around running a suppressor. This is that platform chambered in 5.56 NATO rather than the 300 Blackout the original program gun used.
NO SUPPRESSOR IS INCLUDED. The muzzle is threaded 1/2×28 and the platform is built for suppressed use, but a silencer is an NFA item bought separately: it transfers on its own ATF Form 4 with fingerprints, a photograph and an ATF background check, and you cannot take possession until that is approved. Since 1 January 2026 the transfer tax on suppressors is $0, though the registration and approval requirements are unchanged.
This one has a 10" barrel with a 1:7 twist, and takes standard AR-15 magazines, shipping with a 30-round magazine. 1:7 is the fast end of the standard range for 5.56 and stabilizes the heavier match and defensive bullets as readily as light varmint weights. A barrel this short keeps the pistol compact and quick to handle indoors; in 5.56 it does cost meaningful velocity compared with a 16" barrel, which is the trade being made.
It ships with Q's cassette-style two-stage AR trigger, which is drop safe and has a short reset, and which fits any standard AR/M4 lower. The bolt carrier group is machined as two pieces rather than one: easier to strip and service, and it lets Q hold tighter tolerances in manufacture. The M-LOK handguard uses Q's turnbuckle attachment method so it comes off and back on for service without special tooling. The finish is a Type III Class A clear hard-coat anodize – undyed, which is why it tolerates suppressor heat.
This is configured as a pistol and it stays a pistol. Fitting an actual shoulder stock to a firearm with a 10" barrel makes it a short-barreled rifle – an NFA item that must be registered and approved BEFORE it is assembled, not after. If you are unsure what you have, ask us first.
