Description
The Thompson Center Encore is a replacement barrel, in .300 AAC Blackout.
The barrel is where the chamber and the bore are, so it sets the chambering and, on a threaded barrel, what can be fitted at the muzzle.
Barrels are model-specific. A drop-in barrel is cut to fit a particular slide or receiver without fitting work; a match barrel is usually cut tighter and expected to be fitted by a gunsmith. Which one this is matters before you order.
A threaded barrel is what a suppressor or a muzzle device mounts to. Thread pitch has to match the device – 1/2×28 and 5/8×24 are the common ones and they are not interchangeable. Some states restrict threaded barrels; check yours.
