The Silencer Co Silencerco Thread Over Muzzle is a thread-over muzzle brake.
A thread-over brake screws onto the muzzle and then provides a second, outer surface for a suppressor to mount to. It works as a brake on its own and as a suppressor mount when the can goes on.
The brake ports redirect escaping gas sideways to reduce muzzle rise. That gas has to go somewhere, so anyone beside the shooter feels more of it than they would without one.
The thread is 5/8X28. Muzzle threads are not standardised across calibers or makers, and a mount of the wrong pitch will not start – forcing one damages the barrel, not just the part.
