The Midwest Industries Front Sling Adapter is a sling attachment point.
A QD socket takes a push-button quick-detach swivel: the sling clips in and releases with a button, without unthreading anything.
Sling attachment is not standard across rifles. QD sockets, sling studs, loops and M-LOK slots all take different hardware, and this part is a converter between two of them.
