The Horizon Firearms Iota Outdoors Vandal Carbon is a bolt action in .300 Winchester Magnum with a 22" barrel and a 1:8 twist.

This barrel length is a common compromise: enough to develop most of the cartridge's velocity while staying manageable to carry. That is faster than the usual twist for this cartridge, which suits the heavier, longer bullets distance shooters tend to favor.

The .300 Winchester Magnum is commonly chosen for elk, large game and long-range work. Significant energy at distance, and significant recoil with it.
