The Horizon Firearms Vandal Carbon II 300 is a bolt action in .300 PRC with a 22" barrel and a 1:8 twist.

This barrel length is a common compromise: enough to develop most of the cartridge's velocity while staying manageable to carry. Twist rate determines which bullet weights stabilize: a faster twist favors heavier, longer projectiles.

The .300 PRC is commonly chosen for elk, large game and long-range work. Significant energy at distance, and significant recoil with it.
