The Beretta Balance Cap-heavy For is a balance weight.
A balance weight threads into the stock or the forend to move the gun's balance point. It does not change the total weight in any way you would notice carrying it; it changes where that weight sits.
Forward of the hands, the gun swings smoother and keeps moving through a crossing target – which is why clays shooters add weight. Back toward the hands, it comes onto a target faster and points quicker, which suits driven and upland work. Sets are sold in graduated weights so you can tune it rather than guess.
