The Beretta Trigger Guard Buffer is a trigger guard.

The trigger guard surrounds the trigger and keeps things out of it. An oversized guard exists to leave room for a gloved finger.

On an AR the guard is a separate part pinned to the lower, so it can be changed; on many other designs it is integral to the frame or the receiver and cannot be.

Check the fit against your receiver. Pin diameter and the way the guard indexes at the front vary between makers.
