The Super Duty MOD1-A keeps the MOD1 platform and adds fully ambidextrous controls, using the same layout as Geissele’s GFR and MRGG rifles.
A magazine release sits on the left of the receiver below the Maritime Bolt Catch for left-handed reloads. On the right, bolt catch and release buttons sit below the ejection port: the dust cover applies pressure to the bolt catch to lock the bolt open, and a release button just behind it sends the bolt forward. The layout works from either side rather than merely tolerating a left-handed shooter.
The CHF barrel and Forged Stressproof Bolt are both High-Pressure Tested and Magnetic Particle Inspected. The Stressproof Bolt is forged from Carpenter 158+, developed with Carpenter Steel metallurgists to run cleaner with fewer impurities – Geissele rate it at five times the life of a mil-spec bolt.
A tuned gas system, Super Compact Gas Block and Super 42 braided buffer spring work as a set to hold recoil down while keeping cycling reliable. The trigger is the SSA-E X two-stage with a wide Lightning Bow and Nanoweapon-coated internals. The muzzle device is a HUXWRX Flash Hider-QD, compatible with the HUXWRX FLOW suppressor series.
A centre-tab mated MK16 rail, B5 SOPMOD stock and A17 grip handle the ergonomics, with stainless QD inserts and Geissele’s QD endplate for sling options.
Nanoweapon, also known as Picatinny DSL, is a durable solid lubricant coating developed by ARDEC and available exclusively from Geissele. It is applied at low temperature so the part’s metallurgy is unaffected, and its surface hardness is roughly that of synthetic diamond – harder than sand, which is what lets it shed carbon and run with less lubrication.

A note on finish. Geissele use Type 3 Hardcoat Anodize, which means there is no exact color matching between parts and some shade variation is normal. Two parts bought at different times can differ slightly. More on anodize shade variation and finish methods. Desert Dirt Color varies more than most finishes — Geissele explain DDC here.
Geissele builds to order rather than holding reseller stock. Firearms, uppers, barrels and bolts carry a factory lead time of roughly 15 to 25 weeks depending on the product — please order with that timeline in mind. Some orders ship sooner. Suppressor ready
This rifle ships with a HUXWRX Flash Hider-QD, which is an approved HUXWRX mount. A HUXWRX FLOW suppressor mounts to it directly – no adapter to buy, and the suppressor warranty stays intact. HUXWRX only warranty their suppressors when mounted on approved hardware.
