Description
The Spyderco Byrd Meadowlark 2 folder features a 2.93" 8Cr13MoV stainless blade, clip point, plain edge, stainless handle, satin finish.
The blade is 8Cr13MoV SS, a budget-friendly Chinese stainless that sharpens easily and resists rust well, though it needs touching up more often than premium steels. Stainless scales are durable and easy to clean, though heavier than polymer.
Around three inches is the everyday carry sweet spot – long enough for boxes, cord, food prep and general utility, short enough to disappear in a pocket.
Carry laws are set locally as well as by state, and a 2.93" blade is legal to carry in many places and not in others – check your state and city rules before you carry it. Knives ship directly to you with no FFL transfer and no background check, unlike a firearm. Keep the blade dry and the pivot clean, and touch the edge up on a strop or fine stone before it gets properly dull – it is far less work than bringing back a blunt edge.
The Byrd Meadowlark is for those who prefer the heft and style of stainless steel handles. Its satin-finished stainless steel handles feature chamfered edges for a comfortable, ergonomic grip and offer an ideal palate for engraving and personalization. A four-position pocket clip and sturdy back lock mechanism complete the package, providing completely ambidextrous operation and full range of carry options.
