The Barrett Firearms MRAD is a bolt action in .308 / 7.62 NATO with a 17" barrel, a 1:10 twist and 10-round capacity plus one chambered.

This barrel length is a common compromise: enough to develop most of the cartridge's velocity while staying manageable to carry. That is the standard twist for this cartridge, and it stabilizes the bullet weights most factory ammunition is loaded with. It comes optic ready, so it is ready to take an optic without extra machining.
