The Battle Arms Development is a buttstock for the AR-15.
An AR buttstock slides onto the buffer tube at the back of the lower receiver and locks at one of the tube's positions, which is how length of pull is adjusted for different shooters and for shooting in body armour.
Check which buffer tube you have. Mil-spec tubes measure about 1.148 inches across the outside and commercial tubes about 1.17 inches – a stock cut for one is either loose or will not go on the other. Mil-spec is the more common of the two.
A PDW stock uses its own rail and buffer system rather than a standard tube, so it collapses much shorter than a carbine stock. It replaces the receiver extension rather than sliding over it.
