Beretta Cylinder choke tube in 12 Gauge.
A choke is a short constriction at the muzzle end of a shotgun barrel. Narrowing the bore by a few thousandths of an inch slows how quickly the shot column opens, so the same gun and the same shell can throw a tight pattern or a wide one depending on which tube is fitted.
Cylinder is no constriction at all – the bore runs straight out. The shot column opens fastest, which suits the shortest ranges and slugs.
This tube is cut for the Beretta/Benelli Mobil thread system. Choke threads are not standard across makers – Invector, Invector-Plus, Beretta/Benelli Mobil, Optima, Rem Choke and Accu-Choke are all different – so the system has to match what is cut into your barrel. It is the commonest way people buy a choke that will not fit.
Gauge has to match too: this is 12 Gauge, and a tube of another gauge will not thread in.
This is an extended tube – it protrudes past the muzzle rather than sitting flush, so it can be changed by hand and is easy to identify at a glance.
Patterns vary between guns, loads and shot sizes. The only way to know what a given choke does with the ammunition you shoot is to pattern it on paper at the distance you intend to use it.
