Description
The Bergara Crest is a bolt action rifle in .308 / 7.62 NATO with a 20" barrel, a 1:10 twist and 5-round capacity.
This barrel length is the usual compromise: enough to develop most of the cartridge's velocity while still being manageable to carry all day, and short enough that a suppressor on the end does not make it unwieldy. That is the standard twist for this cartridge, and it stabilizes the bullet weights most factory ammunition is loaded with. It ships without iron sights, so plan on an optic and a way to mount it: a red dot or holographic sits on a rail, a scope needs rings and a base, and a rifle with neither needs a mount first.
The .308 is commonly chosen for hunting, target shooting and general use. Probably the most versatile centerfire cartridge available – ammunition is everywhere, and it handles most North American game.
The B14 CREST is a high performance ultralight rifle designed for long distance hunting, and especially mountain hunting. Built on a lightweight and solid Monte Carlo carbon fiber stock, which is manufactured with the most innovative technology. It sets a new standard in carbon stocks, being the best choice for carbon rifles. Bergara combined this new stock together with the Bergara B-14 action and their well-known barrels, resulting in a unique model that barely exceeds 3kg. It is protected with Cerakote Sniper Grey to cope with unpredictable mountain weather conditions. All B-14 rifles are capable of producing sub-1.0 MOA groups or less at 100 yards using factory match grade ammunition.
