Description
The Bergara BXR is a semi-auto in .22 LR with a 16.5" barrel, a 1:9.5 twist and 10-round capacity.
Rimfire velocity peaks in the high teens of barrel length, so a barrel this short gives up very little and keeps the rifle light and quick to handle. That is faster than the usual twist for this cartridge, which suits the heavier, longer bullets distance shooters tend to favor. It ships without iron sights, so budget for an optic, rings and a base if you do not already have them.
The .22 LR is commonly chosen for small game, training and high-volume practice. Ammunition is cheap enough to shoot all day, which is why it remains the standard first rifle and the standard practice rifle.
