The Bergara Crest is a bolt action rifle in .450 Bushmaster with a 20" barrel, a 1:24 twist and 5-round capacity plus one chambered.

This barrel length is a common compromise: enough to develop most of the cartridge's velocity while staying manageable to carry. Twist rate determines which bullet weights stabilize: a faster twist favors heavier, longer projectiles.

The .450 Bushmaster is commonly chosen for deer hunting in straight-wall cartridge states. These exist to satisfy regulations that prohibit bottleneck rifle cartridges for deer.
