Description
The Burris XTR PS is a 5.5-30x riflescope with a 56mm objective on a 34mm tube.
A 30x top end is intended for precision at distance. High magnification narrows the field of view, shows mirage more readily and makes the picture more sensitive to how steady the rifle is held.
A 34mm tube generally allows more internal elevation adjustment than a 1 inch tube, which matters when dialling for distance. Rings or a mount must be 34mm – ring diameter is not adjustable and a different size will not clamp.
The 56mm objective sets how much light the scope can gather and how tall the rings need to be to clear the bell.
Eye relief is listed at 3.74'' – the distance the eye sits behind the ocular to see the full picture, which is what has to be respected when positioning the scope in the rings.
