The Bushnell Bush R3 Doa-qbr is a 4-12x riflescope with a 40mm objective.
A top end in this range is enough to place a shot at distance while the bottom end stays usable up close. It is the common compromise for a rifle expected to do more than one job.
The 40mm objective sets how much light the scope can gather and how tall the rings need to be to clear the bell.
