A choke is a short constriction at the muzzle end of a shotgun barrel. Narrowing the bore by a few thousandths of an inch slows how quickly the shot column opens, so the same gun and the same shell can throw a tight pattern or a wide one depending on which tube is fitted.
Skeet is a very light constriction, a step tighter than cylinder, intended for targets taken close and fast.
This tube is cut for the Invector-Plus thread system. Choke threads are not standard across makers – Invector, Invector-Plus, Beretta/Benelli Mobil, Optima, Rem Choke and Accu-Choke are all different – so the system has to match what is cut into your barrel.
Gauge has to match too: this is 12 gauge, and a tube of another gauge will not thread in.
Patterns vary between guns, loads and shot sizes. The only way to know what a given choke does with the ammunition you shoot is to pattern it on paper at the distance you intend to use it.
