The CRKT 5470 Fossil features a 3.96" 8Cr13MoV stainless blade, clip point, plain edge, G-10 handle, satin finish.

The blade is 8Cr13MoV SS, a budget-friendly Chinese stainless that sharpens easily and resists rust well, though it needs touching up more often than premium steels. G-10 is a fiberglass laminate: light, dimensionally stable, and grippy even wet.

A blade in this range handles heavier everyday tasks and light outdoor work while still carrying comfortably clipped in a pocket.

Carry laws are set locally as well as by state, and a 3.96" blade is legal to carry in many places and not in others – check your state and city rules before you carry it. It features the IKBS ball bearing pivot system, combined with an opening flipper the result is blade deployment that is smooth and fast. A thumb hole cutout in the blade gives you a second option for opening the knife. The flipper also turns into a handsome finger guard when the blade is open. The handles are made of stainless steel with a unique hammered finish. Contoured multi-colored G10 handle overlays make it look like a gator.
