The Daniel Defense Ddm4 M4A1 5.56 is a semi-auto in .223 REM/5.56 NATO with a 14.5" barrel, a 1:7 twist and 32-round capacity plus one chambered.
A carbine-length barrel keeps the rifle maneuverable, trading some velocity for handling. That is the standard twist for this cartridge, and it stabilizes the bullet weights most factory ammunition is loaded with.
