Soft point – lead is exposed at the tip inside a jacket. It expands more gradually than a hollow point and holds together better at higher impact speeds, which is why it is common in hunting loads.

Bullet weight is given in grains; there are 7,000 to the pound, so this one weighs 62 grains. Within a calibre a heavier bullet generally leaves the muzzle slower and carries its velocity further, while a lighter one starts faster and sheds speed sooner.
